Happy Liberation Day! Happy Juneteenth!

How great it is to FINALLY be able to commemorate this celebration of The United States of America making a truly profound stride toward its ideals. Let's all take courage and with determination make ever further strides for all of our disabled, disenfranchised, dismissed, disregarded, disowned, mistreated, undernourished, underserved, alienated, and unloved among us. Let us remember that we are no greater as a nation than our intelligent efforts to strengthen and do right by the weakest among us.

Let us root out from within the borders of the United States ALL modern-day slavery; those trafficked, incarcerated for profit or politics,, and those trapped in poverty and its consequences Let us also divest from countries, companies, and corporations that benefit financially from slavery abroad.

Let this holiday be not just a pat on the back, but also a kick in the ass and an urging forward toward an exceptional future. Where we were and where we are today as a country and a society are vital to see and understand clearly, without the rose-tinted glasses of Exceptionalism so we can gain accurate perspective and a true bearing. Then we can USE that knowledge to move forward wisely and courageously for ALL OF US the people of the United States of America. , are not nearly as important as where we are headed! .
